Warning: More Grit Weed Reports in New England

Link to thread on Noise Board about Recent Batch of Grit Weed

Picture above is the unknown glassy grit sifted from cannabis purchased by a friend of mine in NH a few months ago. The first known report of this in the area. A few months later another friend this time in Quincy, MA reported finding the same and thanking me for my posts and the above picture which alerted him to not smoking it.

This new post on the noise board is the third report of this to me in the last year in New England.

Some have speculated that it could be food grade silica found in many commercial kitchens. I have no clue what is is. I wouldn't smoke it. Keep an eye out for it and send a report if you find it. Post a picture.

I am in contact with a writer from High Times to possibly do some coverage of this. We have three confirmed cases of this in the Boston area.

If there is any Boston area media, that wants to pursue this for a story, please contact me at michaelc_100@yahoo.com

If you find the same, have pictures, email them.

  1. I have seen this in Connecticut. It made me think of sand and was somewhat gritty. Ive seen it 2 or 3 times in the last year.

  2. Can it not just be sifted out?

  3. You can sift it but lots of it still stays on the weed. Check the pics on the noise board from the batches of this in the UK, it's sprayed on and we know bud's sticky already...

  4. Top story right now on http://universalhub.com

    Thanks AdamG for posting it.

I can't believe a few people that have bought this stuff, find out, and still smoke it? That's crazy. It might be ok, but who wants to take that chance? Smoking weed, not a big deal in my book, smoking weed with glass particles, sand, silica or some other unknown substance? No way.

  8. I've seen this in Toronto, Ontario and surrounding areas. Definitely spread the word about this as not many people know what is going on.

  9. has anybody seen Jack Herer or something called hash plant that you might think is grit in the New England area? It hard to tell but I think it's grit as it scratches a CD when you rub the bud on it, but there are no obvious glass beads. I'm waiting to look at it with a microscope to get a better idea.

  10. If it scratches it is likely to be grit weed.
