On January 17th of this year, Prospect Hill and I made a video discussing our displeasure with Methuen Mayor Bill Manzi's marijuana proposal. We pledged to attend the city hearing and encouraged our friends to join us. Mayor Manzi saw the video and posted it to his blog, BillManzi.com with a response that he would offer us a compromise.
The press came calling, two front page stories in the Eagle Tribune newspaper, a feature in the Hartford Courant. And a big photo op compromise with the Mayor.
The story caught the attention of HIGH TIMES Magazine who nominated Prospect Hill for a music award and booked them on their annual 420 party that got front page coverage in the New York Times.
Prospect Hill also got picked up for the upcoming 20th annual Boston Freedom Rally, The Maine Vocals Freedom Fest and the NY State Harvest Fest.
Just because we showed up.
