WBZ News Reports No Civil Fines For Pot Smoking at Phish Fenway Concert
Boston Herald
So The Boston Herald, WBZ 4, FOX 25 all run stories proclaiming that Boston Police are going to ticket thousands at Phish's Fenway Park show.
No citations for pot were issued. What did you expect? The Police to actually try to ticket 10,000+ people? At Fenway Park with the owners being politically chummy with the Boston PD and Mayor's Office? No way.
I like this quote from a reader on the Herald website.
"I thought I read in the Herald Saturday that they were going to issue hundreds of tickets and turn the whole thin into a giant holding pen for civil ganja violators. Did I miss something -- i mean, the Herald wasn't like hyping up a b.s. story or anything ... ?"
No, the media would never hype a BS story fed to them by local police. Hopefully the local media will remember this and take note if the same Boston Police decide to fine the attendees at the Boston Freedom Rally. Selective enforcement at the Freedom Rally? I wouldn't doubt it, just because the Mayor plays politics and doesn't favor our cause. Double standard? You bet. Since the media got burned on this one, perhaps they might actually do their job and note that double standard if it does happen?
