Rhode Island radio talk show host supports prohibition (illegal drug dealers) but can't understand why her state has problems with illegal drugs?
America has a drug problem and more drug use per square foot than anywhere else in the world because? Because of prohibition. Because of what you support, Helen. Let me say it again, illegal drug dealers infest Rhode Island because of policies you support. Amsterdam, how's it compare to Rhode Island, Helen? Oh, they have way less drug use/abuse.
She also goes on to say that only a handful of people will be helped by medical marijuana. Which doesn't exactly ring true from my life experiences. But so what, let's pretend it is only a handful. Why would the fact, that only a handful need it, invalidate it. Only a handful? So it's not important? Only a handful of people got murdered last week. So why do we need to lock up these pesky murderers? Only a handful?
Only a handful of people were denied a less toxic medicine that works for them.
Only a handful of patients with cancer, MS, glaucoma, AIDS, HIV, Hep C, Crohns, Manfar Syndrome, migraines, seizures, strokes, daily back pain, PTSD were denied their medicine of choice. It's only a handful, why should we care about them? Is that really your talking point, Helen. Only a handful?
