Excerpt from WGN News story, Judie Garcia:
One congressman said with the increased potency, he would lobby to see increased fines because the new marijuana could sell for $600 an ounce. This new 'super marijuana' is much higher in THC. It produce a more intense and longer-lasting high. It also sells for more on the street, and on the street, it's commonly known as "koosh."
"Koosh is a modified marijuana that delivers up to ten times the THC level of the marijuana we may have seen in the 1960s and 70s," Congressman Mark Kirk said.
What a joke. And from a major market tv news station. Chicago WGN.
"It produce a more intense and longer-lasting high." ;)
"Koosh"??? "KOOSH"??? You mean Kush?
10 times greater THC in marijuana? 10 times 5% (which is a disputed number to start with and I'm not even pretending 4% is accurate, I gave you 5%) is 50%. Or 40% by your own numbers and not matching up with the same propaganda in this article. Can't these reporters/editors do the math? Or is that not part of the job?
50% THC in marijuana?
Not on this planet.
Hash is close to 100% THC and that's been around since when? The 1970's, yes and thousands of years before.
Higher prices are created due to laws like the one that the Congressman is proposing. He wants to fight the higher costs for kind bud with a law that will further increase the price? And it goes unchallenged?
His law will further raise the price of kind bud. A price support. How does his law reduce the price? It doesn't. It supports them to go higher. How about $700-1000 an ounce, that is the only end result of higher punishments.
WGN when you do a pot story, assign somebody that actually knows a little something about the subject matter.
And try less to come off as lapdogs to this Congress buffoon.
Is it to much to ask?
