Rhode Island Medical Marijuana Patients Win Big: Compassion Centers Are Law

Today, June 16, 2009, the Rhode Island General Assembly overrode Governor Carcieri's veto, making the 2009 Medical Marijuana Act a law.

Within a year, the Rhode Island Department of Health will license a non-profit compassion center to grow and distribute medical marijuana for patients.

The House voted in a huge landslide, 67-0 to override, and the Senate voted 35-3.

Rhode Island is now the first state to expand a medical marijuana law to protect patients' safe access to medicine.

My advice to MA medical patients, move to Rhode Island.

When will Massachusetts leaders move on this, an issue with 80%+ voter support?

An issue that can only bring in new money for the state?

Why is MA behind Rhode Island on this issue? Share on FriendFeedhttp://www.wikio.com
