June 26, 2009 Attorney General Martha Coakley endorsed medical use of marijuana with a doctors' prescription while doing her monthly appearance on the Braude and Eagan Show on WTKK FM 96.9. During what is known as "Generally Speaking" the Attorney General, who wants to be Senator, and who opposed Question 2 and encourages communities to adopt public consumption ordinances and by-laws responded to Margery Eagan and Jim Braude's asking about the subject the recent events in New Hampshire,
"I think doctors should be able to prescribe what they need to for pain for keeping people healthy, ah ya know. I terms of I don't like to see it as a loophole just say oh yea its medical marijuana so people can use it, I just have concerns again I've always said it's about kids, it's about workplaces and safety; but if doctors feel its appropriate to prescribe um I don't personally have a problem with it." Martha Coakley.
