Isn't it ironic...10 years after I moved from Boston to the narrow minded backwater of ignorance that is Sacramento CA, Boston is treating cannabis in a more enlightened way than California, which has had a medical marijuana law since 1967. Rev Eddie Lepp, a rastafarian minister just reported to begin a 10 year prison sentence for operating a cannabis growing cooperative. Eddie will most likely die in prison beause he is old and sick. Charles Lynch. a compassionate and decent man who I know personally has had his whole life ruined after a Barney Fife Sheriff called in the DEA to raid his medical marijuana dispensary. Charlie was operating legally under California law but the state did not protect him and turned him over to the feds. He faced life in prison which currently has been reduced to one year and is being appealed. My own daughter, a medical marijuana patient, is facing 23 years in prison and 2 felony strikes after being attacked by a known armed street gang trying to steal plants from a legal garden and invade the house she was visiting. Because she accidentally fired a defensive shot which almost assuredly hit no one, and one of the gangsters was hit, she is being held responsible. This is a small sampling of what is happening in California, a supposedly "progressive" state which has, on paper, legalized marijuana for medical use. Follow your own lead Massachusetts and don't use these fascist idiots in California as a model.
