Chief: Pot Law Could Cause Problems: Daily News Transcript
Stillman said Walpole has yet to face serious issues either, noting of Walpole's two-dozen or so marijuana citations issued, all have paid in full and there hasn't been any brazen marijuana use in town since the law was enacted.
He said most people who are caught "understand they were doing something they shouldn't" and pay willingly.
Hilarious. We've had no problems but there could be.
Police Chief if you catch me with cannabis, I will pay the fine, but not because I did something wrong. I know the law is still not perfect. I'm not willing to undermine it, since it is better than before. How about acknowledging that?
That many of us for the first time are more willing to respect a law even if we think it is unjust. To fine me a medical user for cannabis? It's not right but I would pay the fine. And not because I think I did something wrong. I would pay the fine because of folks like yourself who would crow about those that are unpaid. Because our State House still has not had the sense to allow me to legally use medicine that helps me.
I thought police were just supposed to enforce the law?
Is working on the political campaign to override the will of the people and mind reading now part of the job description for a local police chief?
