Interview with Myster DL, growing crops, working with his childhood idols

Myster DL, is a local Boston area rapper that has had the opportunity to work with some of the biggest names in hip hop music. He takes a break from his cultivation and music production to discuss the last decade of his life.

DL, you've got your youtube channel and lots of collaborations with people. Who have you worked with that got you the most excited about recording with?

"I grew up on Onyx, Cypress Hill and Busta Rhymes and still to this day they are my all time favorites (sprinkle in Big Pun, Heltah Skeltah, Redman and Scarface). I was most excited about working with Onyx. Every song I've done or plan on doing with any of them, I write at least ten verses and only pick one. I need to be on my "A" game now. The first show I did with them was the only time in my life I felt butterflies about something, I wasn't worried about the crowd, I was worried about what Dro and Stick thought. Fred came up behind me on stage, put his arm around me and twisted a blunt up. In a way I came out of my shell at that moment and now its my turn. Obviously, "The Coalition" was an amazing song for me. Anytime ANY artist gets to work with B Real they should realize that they are on a record with a legend, music royalty far beyond hip hop. I was also proud to do songs and start a friendship with x1 before he died."
