College student running for MA State Rep proves with liberty comes responsibility

Jonathan Loya is an independent running for Massachusetts State Representative in the Eighth District in the towns of Holliston, Hopkington, Medway, Southborough, and Westborough. The general election for the seat is to be held on November 2nd, 2010.

You're in college, not even 21 yet, what? Why did you decide to run for office? Aren't you supposed to be doing keg stands, are you doing any keg party fund raisers?

I decided to run for office because I am fed up with business as usual politics taking place on Beacon Hill. I don't drink alcohol, I'm not into the drinking scene so no on that for fund raising.

How do you feel about the bills at the state house for medical marijuana and legalization?

I've taken a look at both of these bill proposals and I think they are good ideas that help preserve the liberties of people who want to use marijuana. The benefits of marijuana are finally being realized. for the rest of the interview
