NH Rep says he can't support decrim because he's a dummy?

An email from a New Hampshire rep on Wednesday's NH marijuana decrim vote that shows if you are clueless, maybe shouldn't be weighing in?

"There is no way I can support HB 1653. Allowing anyone and everyone to carry around 1/4 ounce of marijuana is not a great idea. It will make it more difficult for police because, since they don't carry a calibrated scale with them they would need to take each individual possessing it to the station to have it weighed. Where it comes from means someone it (sic) selling an illegal product and probably doesn't care who buys. Where are the funds to purchase coming from?

I voted in favor of medical use but not for this.

Rep. Don Ryder"

Wow, allow people to carry around pot? Like they already don't do that.

But this decrim law would allow, "anyone and everyone to carry around 1/4 ounce of marijuana?" Really?

Funny because I thought this tame, a weak bill really, would make possession of small amounts a violation, punishable by a $200 fine. The bill requires courts to order drug awareness program for every offender at the individual's expense, and community service. Those who fail to complete both programs would be fined $1,000.

And even more funny, MA police said the same thing about the issues of going back to the station to weigh the contraband, but so far no reports of police having issues with that after fifteen months of decrim in MA. Miraculously they must have found out that you can buy $2 hand scales.

And people still think pot heads are stupid?

At least they know where to find a tool that costs less than ten bucks.
