PROVIDENCE –– One cop sat in his car with his brother and watched him deal cocaine to customers.
Another police officer called a cocaine supplier four times to arrange buys for his friend who was a user –– and also a Providence police officer.
They spoke in code into their cell phones, arranging buys and pickups, as state police detectives and FBI agents listened in through wiretaps of their alleged criminal doings.
These are some of the allegations described in court papers that charge three Providence police officers with participating in a cocaine drug ring.
Four other officers, three of whom are on the narcotics unit, were placed on administrative duty Friday afternoon, as part of the ongoing state police investigation.
