Krefetz is currently representing Matt Yaffe, the Boston "Green Side Up" shop owner facing "drug paraphernalia" charges while Matalon also serves on the Board of Directors with MassCann/NORML."Allston, Mass. —
With new people filling in leadership positions, the Allston Board of Trade is seeking to go in a new direction in the next year. An announcement was made last week at the Allston Civic Association that Scott Matalon, board member and owner of Stingray Body Art, would be the new president. Allston attorney Josh Krefetz was named secretary."
A few weeks ago, Matalon was charged with assault and battery outside his home after a brush with police. Some wondered if Matalon would be the right fit for president of the board, but Matalon and the rest of the members do not believe the charges raised and are confident in his abilities.I know Scott Matalon and no way did he assault any police officer.
Matalon has worked in the Allston business district for the last 20 years and has owned a company with 110 employees. He said he committed no major crime and is still the same person the ABOT trusts to be a leader among local businesses.
“I have a reputation for many things, but dishonesty and violence are not any of those things,” Matalon said. “They know me, they trust me. I’m still the same business man I have been, and I’m still committed to work with people to have a better neighborhood.”
