I'm running for re-election as President for MassCann/NORML.

Bill Flynn, an activist and MassCann Board Member that I have respect for, is also running for the office.

I've extended to Mr. Flynn an invitation to write and blog here on his qualifications for the position.

I believe I am the best announced candidate to be President of MassCann/NORML.

Here's a recent rundown on some of my work.

Former athlete, medical marijuana user, and the President for MassCann/NORML.

In 2008, a historic win, the campaign for marijuana decrim in Massachusetts.

In 2010, the Boston Freedom Rally had an attendance of 50,000 and more than doubled profits for the organization from the year before.

Some of the music artists booked for marijuana reform events includes Onyx, Tracy Bonham, Styles P, Termanology, Buckshot, Dresden Dolls, Prospect Hill, Rob Potylo, Bigg Nez, Roadsteamer, Tree, Scissorfight, Will Dailey, DJ Slim, Big Shug, Casey Desmond, Darkbuster, Myster DL, The Force, and Graveyard BBQ.

Instrumental in creating promotions or press coverage with HIGH TIMES MAGAZINE, WBZ Radio, WTKK, WRKO, WBCN, WAAF, WMFO, WMBR, WERS, NORML Show, Time4Hemp, MarijuanaRadio, Phoenix, The Dig, Eagle Tribune, Guardian, NECN, WGBH PBS 2, Newburyport Daily News, KOP Productions, The Noise Magazine, and other media outlets.

The Mike Cann youtube channel features more than 300 original videos. The videos have more than 600,000+ views and 2200+ subscribers.

Currently co-hosting a show with MassCann Co-Founder, Steven Epstein on on Saturdays from 4-6pm, The THC Show, Two Hotheads on Cannabis.

Lobbied, interviewed and sometimes protested or be-friended many local politicians on marijuana reform to great effect.  From Congressman Mike Capuano, to Senator Scott Brown, MA Rep Tim Toomey, and City Councils in Methuen, Braintree, Cambridge, Quincy, and beyond.

Part of the team that brought Quiet Desperation to MyTV New England and recently made television acting debut on that very show.

Raised tens of thousands of dollars for MassCann/NORML, closing new Boston Freedom Rally vending contracts and sponsorships, bringing out new members, as well as producing 10+ year run of club benefit shows for MassCann/NORML.

Created good will in the community for MassCann/NORML by reaching out to work with music artists, media, business owners, other reform orgs, and even a few politicians.
